Menschen fliegen auf den Mond. Menschen laufen hundert Meter unter zehn Sekunden, transplantieren Organe und Gliedmaßen. Menschen machen Unmögliches möglich. Ständig und jeden Tag aufs Neue. Querschnittslähmung heilbar machen – diesem Ziel hat sich die Stiftung Wings for Life verschrieben.
Wings for Life wurde vor etwas mehr als zwei Jahren von Heinz Kinigadner und seinem Freund Dietrich Mateschitz – dem Gründer von Red Bull – ins Leben gerufen. Die Stiftung hat es in sehr kurzer Zeit geschafft, einige der weltweit anerkanntesten Wissenschaftler auf diesem Gebiet an einen Tisch zu bringen, um Wissen auszutauschen und Strategien zur Lösung des Problems zu generieren.
Für DDr. Jan Schwab, wissenschaftlicher Direktor der Wings for Life Stiftung, ist die Frage nicht, ob effektive Behandlungen und Heilmethoden gefunden werden, sondern wann.
In diesem Jahr haben wir eine Mission gestartet. Ihr Ziel ist es, eine globale Bekanntheit von Wings for Life zu schaffen und die Arbeit der Stiftung mit den dafür notwendigen finanziellen Mitteln zu versorgen. Dies erfordert die Unterstützung eines jeden Einzelnen.
